Brazos County deputy sheriff placed on leave after arrest

BRAZOS COUNTY, TX — A Brazos County deputy sheriff has been placed on leave after she was arrested on Friday.

The sheriff's department said Melissa Melasky was arrested for violating the Texas Health and Safety Code when she obtained a controlled substance from a pharmacy by fraud/misrepresentation.

Melasky was released from jail on a $20,000 bond.

She has been placed on administrative leave pending the completion of an internal affairs investigation.
