GATESVILLE, TX — Gatesville has lifted the boil water notice put into place for several customers on July 24 due to emergency repair of a water main.
The city said it has "corrected the issue and restored pressure, disinfectant levels and/or bacteriological quality," and results given to TCEQ indicate the water no longer needs to be boiled as of July 26.
On July 24,the city issued a boil water notice due to the emergency repair of a water main on a part of East Main Street.
Customers on the north and south sides of East Main Street from 2425 E. main (Scott's Funeral Home) east to Lovers Lane, then South on Lovers Lane to Austin Street were under the boil water notice.
The city had advised that water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption.
