CENTRAL TEXAS — Gatesville and Moody customers have been asked to boil their water Monday afternoon.
According to Gatesville Fire Department, due to the emergency repair at the water main line at 26th Street and Jackson Street, the Texas Commission on Enviornmental Quality has required the Gatesville water customers in the eastern portion of the city to boil their water.
The 31st Street West to North Lovers Lane and Main Street, North to Osage Road including Oak Grove Addition will need to boil their water prior to consumption.
Another boil water notice was issued for the City of Moody.
Due to the installment of a pressure relief valve in the affected areas from Liberty Hill Road water plant, continuing to Stockton Road. It is also hitting the water line on Country Club Road between State Highway 317/ Eddy Gatesville Parkway.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and coiled prior to use.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption.
