Two children transported to hospital after two-vehicle crash, both in critical condition

AXTELL, TX — Several people were transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Thursday.

According to DPS, at approximately 7:50 p.m. troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 84 at FM 939, east of Axtell.

An investigation determined that a Mitsubishi SUV traveling southbound on FM 939 entered the intersection without properly stopping at the stop sign.

The SUV was struck by a Chevrolet traveling eastbound on U.S. 84.

The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital for a possible injury.

A 7-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy, that were also in the SUV, were transported to the hospital in critical condition. They were transported to hospitals in Temple and Waco.

Both occupants of the Chevrolet were also transported to the hospital for possible injury.

The investigation is still ongoing.
