FREESTONE COUNTY — The Freestone County Sheriff's Office is investigating after multiple stolen vehicles were found in northwestern Freestone County.

According to FCSO, the area where the vehicles were found was being used as a "chop shop" location for approximately 16 to 20 vehicles. FCSO says they confirmed at least 13 vehicles were reported stolen from outside Freestone County jurisdictions.

FCSO says the vehicles are "completely stripped down and unusable." According to FCSO, most of the vehicles were stolen between December 2018 and March 2019.

FCSO has requested the assistance of the Heart of Texas Auto Theft Task Force "due to the size and investigative needs."
