$150,000 worth of methamphetamine found during traffic stop

LOTT, TX — Two women were arrested after $150,000 worth of methamphetamine was found in their vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to the City of Lott Police Department. around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, Officer Fausnacht made a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling south on Highway 77 through the City of Lott for speeding. Loft PD says Officer Fausnacht noticed the smell of marijuana from the car.

During a probable cause search, Lott PD says a small bag of marijuana, a small bag of methamphetamine and THC edibles were found. Then, during a more invasive search, Marlin PD says 4.3 pounds, or 2 kilos, of methamphetamine and a firearm were found concealed in the vehicle.

Two Hispanic women were arrested. The 33-year-old driver and 42-year-old passenger were charged with manufacturing/ delivering a controlled substance more than 400 grams, an enhanced Felony 1. The driver was also charged with three other drug-related charges and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Lott PD says the amount of methamphetamine seized has a street value of $150,000.
