WHITNEY, TX — A 13-year-old girl drowned in Lake Whitney at Cedar Creek Park Monday evening.

According to the Hill County Sheriff's Department, they received a call for a possible drowning at Cedar Creek Park before 6 p.m. When deputies arrived, they learned a group of younger kids had been swimming in the lake when a 13-year-old girl went under the water and did not return.
