Limestone County Emergency Management said a woman has died due to complications with COVID-19.
This is the county's first death.
They said the woman was in her late 50s and passed away on Tuesday. It’s suspected underlying health issues may have contributed to her death. At the time of her passing, she was hospitalized in Mexia.
"At this point, everyone should know the Covid-19 Virus is an indiscriminate killer. Please follow all CDC recommendations and local instructions. Your life depends on it," they said.
