An online petition with over 40,000 signatures is demanding that grocery stores force customers to wear face masks.

"HEB supermarkets in Texas have stopped requiring customers to wear masks when shopping at their stores. According to HEB company representatives, they have done this because the governor of Texas has not allowed local governments in Texas to legally require people in public places to wear masks. HEB, as a private company, is free to require customers to wear masks in their stores, regardless of whether state or local laws require it," the petition says.

The petition was started 4 days ago.

An executive order from Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff requires employees and visitors at all commercial entities in the county to wear face coverings, which includes H-E-B.
