Thomas is a well-known artist and muralist from New Orleans who has joined our the ARTPrenticeship program at Creative Waco this year as a celebrity artist and lead designer on a mural.

Due to Thomas’ outstanding contributions to the arts and youth in New Orleans, Mayor Ernest “Dutch” Morial declared June 28 as “Richard Thomas Day”. The City of Waco also recognizes his contributions in art, creative leadership and education in our community.

Thomas will be showcasing his work at The Kieran-Sistrunk Fine Art Gallery for the month of July. The exhibition's opening ceremony will be Friday, July 5 from 4 - 9 p.m.
