TEAGUE, TX — For the March 14 edition of Central Texas Living Ann Harder spoke with Sue Allen, Timmy Campbell and Keri Jenson about the upcoming Damon Allen Memorial Golf Tournament.
During the interview, Sue talked about the death of her son and the purpose of the memorial golf tournament. Thanksgiving Day of 2017, DPS Trooper Damon Allen was shot and killed while making a traffic stop in Freestone County. His sacrifice resulted in the Damon Allen Act, a set of proposals to reform the bail system in Texas to protect law enforcement and enhance public safety.
Last June, the Tri-County Golf Club at the Vineyards in Teague held the inaugural tournament for Trooper Allen. Now, the planning is in progress for this year's event.
