WACO, TX — Buried treasure! No, it's a grant from the Scripps Howard Foundation.

KXXV Anchor Lindsay Liepman applied for a grant for the Waco Rainbow Room, a crisis resource center that provides essential needs of children in the foster care system. Scripps is the parent company of Central Texas News Now. In June the Scripps Howard Foundation notified Liepman that her application was approved and the Waco Rainbow Room was granted $1250 to help the children of Central Texas.

The Central Texas News Now team volunteered Friday to compete in a charity sandcastle competition at Hawaiian Falls Waco to benefit Partnerships for Children, which operates the Waco Rainbow Room. During the competition they surprised PFC with the grant check live on Central Texas Living.
