MCLENNAN COUNTY, TX — For the October 14 edition of Central Texas Living Ann Harder spoke with Mary Lou Castillo with Casa De Castillo and Jane Bounds, executive director of Pack of Hope.

Pack of Hope is made up entirely of volunteers. The organization works to ensure children are fed over weekends and holidays, allowing kids to focus throughout the week on their studies and have the resources necessary to excel in school. The organization works with participating school districts in McLennan County, providing eligible students with backpacks filled with nutritious foods to prevent hunger from Friday through Sunday while the students are not in school.

On Tuesday, October 15, there will be a fundraiser at Casa De Castillo in Waco for Pack of Hope. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
