A 40-year-old Louisiana man has been sentenced to 175 years in prison for sex crimes involving children and for child pornography.

St. Tammany Parish District Attorney Warren Montgomery says David Allen Hammond Jr. of Pearl River was convicted Thursday on all 28 charges against him, and was sentenced Friday.

Charges included sexual battery of a victim under age 13, aggravated crime against nature and 19 counts of producing pornography involving juveniles.

Montgomery's news release quoted the judge as telling Hammond he doesn't usually take pleasure in sending people to jail, but was making an exception.

Hammond originally was indicted on a rape charge and 800 pornography counts. Montgomery says the rape charge and most pornography counts were later dropped because they weren't needed for an appropriate sentence.
