LAMPASAS, TX — The Lampasas Police Department is asking for help from the public in identifying two suspects in a forgery/theft case.

On Jan. 23, it was reported by a business owner located in the City of Lampasas that there were checks stolen from the business.

The business owner was notified of fraudulent behavior and upon reviewing information the owner of the business discovered there were checks missing from their checkbook.

Police say there was an attempt to deposit one of the checks at a Wells Fargo bank located in Temple Texas, but a hold was placed on it.

A second check was cashed in the amount of $2100 in Temple, Texas before the theft was discovered.

The owner of the business reviewed video surveillance and located two male subjects coming into the place of business and entering the office area where the check book was sitting.

Police say the video shows one of the suspects removing checks from the check book and placing them under their clothing.

The Lampasas Police Department is following leads at this time and requesting assistance from the public in identifying the two unknown suspects in the video.

The Lampasas Police Department request that anyone with information please contact the Hill Country Area Crime Stoppers at 1-866-756-TIPS or the Lampasas Police Department to speak with Lampasas Police Department Lieutenant Investigator Charlie Boswell.
