COPPERAS COVE, TX — A woman is dead and two others were taken to the hospital after an early morning crash in Copperas Cove.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said that the accident happened just before 8 a.m. Monday on FM 116. Officials say that a 2001 Buick passenger car driven by Summer Hanbuth, 30, crossed the center stripe and struck a Jeep head-on.
Hanbuth was pronounced dead at the scene. A male juvenile passenger in her car was taken to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
The driver of the Jeep was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center.
