HURST, TX — Police are searching for a woman accused of attempting to abduct a child from a Hurst Target.

Around 3:01 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, officers with the Hurst Police Department responded to the Target, located at 1400 Precinct Line Road, for reports of an attempted child abduction.

Police say an unknown woman approached a shopping cart where a couple had placed a baby carrier holding their 1-year-old child.

The woman grabbed the shopping cart with the child inside and walked away while the parents were shopping.

Target employees were notified of the missing child and quickly began to search for her.

The child was located about 4 minutes later still inside the store after the woman abandoned the shopping cart.

The child is back with its parents.

The woman left the store before she could be located and detained.

She is described as a white female, approximately 55 to 70 years old, with blonde hair in a bob-style haircut. She was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt with white circular designs on it, a royal blue jacked, blue jeans and light-colored sneakers.

She was seen driving a 2007-2014 GMC Yukon Denali.

Police say a second person of interest is being sought. He is described as a white male, approximately 25 to 35-years-old. He was last seen wearing a Carhartt yellow jacket, blue jeans, tan boots, dark ballcap and sunglasses with blue-tinted lenses.

He appears to be unshaven with a light beard at the time this occurred.

He is driving an older two-toned Chevrolet Silverado, dark blue or black over silver, with a dark rear bumper and a black Chevrolet bow-tie logo on the front grill.
