According to TxDOT, Dwane Morton and David Price were picking up litter along SH 6 south of Quanah in Hardeman County when they noticed Joyce Milligan on the ground in her backyard.

Milligan had fallen after being startled by the snake, and had been lying in her backyard for several hours with the snake coiled a few feet away.

TxDOT says Price and Morton took care of the snake and helped Milligan inside her home after making sure she was not injured.
