FALLS COUNTY — Falls County Sheriff Ricky Scaman confirmed a 16-year-old has been taken to McLane's Children Hospital in Temple after hitting a train.
The accident happened at Highway 6 at County Road 116 in Falls County just after 6:30 am when the Riesel High School student was on the way to practice.
The car was crossing the tracks when the collision occurred in an attempt to beat the train across the tracks officials on scene said.
The 16-year-old from Marlin is currently in critical condition at McLane's Children's Hospital in Temple.
