AAA reports that gas prices this year for Thanksgiving will be similar or cheaper than last year.

The national average is $2.59 - but it's $2.25 in Texas. When you look at the AAA map, Central Texas is a sea of blue, indicating that we have some of the lowest prices in the state.

“During Thanksgiving week last year we saw the national gas price average decrease a nickel between Monday and Thursday, that could be the case again this year,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson. “AAA recommends holiday road-trippers use the AAA app to find current gas prices along their route.”

Texas is one of the nations 10 least expensive markets. Along with Texas, you can get cheap gas in Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Alabama, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee and Virginia.
