VICTORIA, Texas — A man on Texas top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list was captured and arrested Friday in Victoria, Texas.
Steve Garcia Lopez, 53, has been on the wanted list since August 2018 after he left his last known address in Abilene. He is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.
In 1999, Lopez was convicted of aggravated sexual assault involving a 10-year-old child and sentenced to five years in prison.
Lopez was arrested Friday by Texas DPS Special Agents and U.S. Marshals Service after they received a Crime Stoppers tip.
Texas Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.
