School resource officer replaces student's bike after it was stolen from outside the school

ROUND ROCK, TX — A school resource officer replaced a student's bicycle after it was stolen from outside of the school.

Axel is a 6th grader at Hernandez Middle School in Round Rock. One day, his bike was stolen outside of the school.

Sergeant Jeff Uhrig, a school resource officer, decided to replace Axel's bike. The officer reached out to Walmart to have a bike donated, then teamed up with his fellow school resource officer's to purchase a new helmet, lock, and lights.

Axel also received a police escort home by Lieutenant Jimmy Keyes.

Axel's old bike was eventually recovered, but was badly damaged, according to the Round Rock Police Department. Officers are continuing to search for the person(s) who stole the bike.
