Woman missing from nursing home found alive, taken to hospital: Navarro County Officials

KERENS, TX — (UPDATE: December 8, 9:30 a.m.) The Kerens Police Department have found the woman who walked out of an area nursing home unseen by staff.

Police say Mrs. Patterson was found and has been transported to the Navarro County Regional Hospital.

(UPDATE: December 6) Kerens police say the woman is wearing a black medical boot from a recent surgical procedure.

They believe the woman could not walk very far alone and say she most likely had help leaving the area.

The Kerens Police Department is looking for a missing woman from Kerens Care Center since Thursday, December 5.

Police said that Cynthia Patterson walked out of the center unseen by staff. She is known to have mental illness and other health issues.

They believe that she may have been trying to make her way to Malakoff or Athens.

New information obtained this morning says that she was seen walking on Highway 31 between Kerens and Powell that very morning. She has been missing for over 24 hours and needs vital medication. Please call Navarro County Dispatch if you see Patterson at 903-654-3001.
