NFL star Patrick Mahomes used his foundation to help his home state of Texas as families continue to recover from the winter storm.
The Kansas City quarterback's namesake foundation, the Patrick Mahomes Foundation, is donating 30,000 meals to a pair of events held by the East Texas Food Bank.
Mahomes is a native of Whitehouse, Texas.
The chief executive officer of the food bank says Mahomes is worried about how his hometown is coping with the aftermath of the recent winter storm that blasted through Texas.
Mahomes led the Chiefs to the last Super Bowl, but lost to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
