One dead, three injured after active shooter situation in Nacogdoches County, Texas

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX — One person is dead and three people are injured after an active shooter situation in Nacogdoches County, Texas on Sunday morning.

The shooting occurred near Sandyland Circle off of County Road 823, going out 21 West, according to a Facebook video posted by Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges.

All law enforcement in the county responded, including a SWAT team.

The Nacogdoches Sheriff's Office has a person of interest in custody. Authorities do believe that the person in custody is the person responsible for the shooting.

The three people who were shot and injured are in local hospitals in Nacogdoches. Their condition is unknown.

Multiple agencies are processing a large crime scene at this time.

Everyone should stay clear from the area, said officials.
