Michael Coble, Ph.D appointed to Texas Forensic Science Commission

AUSTIN, TX — Governor Abbott has appointed Michael Coble, Ph. D. to the Texas Forensic Science Commission until September 1st, 2021; the term expiration date.

In the commission, they focus to improve the quality of forensic analysis conducted in Texas crime laboratories; their accreditation mandates also impact criminal proceedings, procedures, policies and practices.

Michael Coble, Ph.D of Fort Worth received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Appalachian State University and a Master of Forensic Science in Forensic Biology; he would later receive a Doctor in Philosophy in Genetics from George Washington University. Coble, Ph.D is also an Associate Director and Associate Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Center for Human Identification. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the Washington Academy of Sciences and a member of the International Society of Forensic Genetics and the Mid-Atlantic Association of Forensic Scientists.
