CEDAR CREEK, TX — The zoo is one of the only places that humans can get a glimpse of exotic wildlife. One zoo outside of Austin is taking that experience a little further.

The Capital of Texas Zoo offers animal encounters 7 days of the week. Visitors can pet baby dingo puppies, feed crocodiles, toss a treat at a hippo and even hang out with a lemur.

The zoo is located 20 minutes east of Austin and is one of the fastest-growing zoos in Central Texas, according to their website.

Other encounters include feeding camels, guinea pigs, fallow deer, miniature donkeys and prairie dogs. They also have a Baby Otter Show and an area where you can watch the big cats get fed on certain school holidays.

Tickets are $11.25 for teens and adults and $8.79 for children. Kiddos under 2 get in for free.

They also offer a 10 percent military discount with an active military ID. Animal encounters are an additional charge.

"Our Zoo is small compared to places like San Antonio or Houston, but we are a pretty, intimate little place with happy and healthy animals. We have breeding programs for fourteen endangered species here, and this is our main reason for existing," they said on their website.

The zoo is located at 376 Jenkins Rd in Cedar Creek, Texas.
