AUSTIN, TX — With a 6-pack on his lap, Governor Abbott announced that he has signed the "Beer-to-go" bill.

House Bill 1545 now allows craft breweries to sell beer-to-go in the state of Texas.

The bill also extends the operations of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and reduces some burdensome regulations on the beer and wine industry, according to Abbott.

The bill will take effect beginning September 1.

Governor Abbott closes it out reminding everyone to "drink responsibly."

The bill signing took place at a craft brewery in Austin, Texas on Saturday.
