BELL COUNTY, TX — Gas prices are continuing to rise this summer.

The state gas price average is $2.54 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel. AAA says that prices are up seven cents more than on this day last week, and is nine cents less per gallon compared to last year.

Texas remains well below the national average of $2.79. Averages in the Waco as well as Temple/Killeen/Fort Hood remain at $2.48.

Gas prices continue to creep up as crude oil prices rise and decreasing gasoline stocks. Families pack up for summer road trips, increasing the demand.

There were concerns that Hurricane Barry could impact production, but it had minimal impacts.
