ODESSA, TX — Marián Boado Encinosa was shot three times by a gunman who killed 7 people and injured 22 others in Midland-Odessa on Saturday, Aug. 31.

She was shot in the abdomen, chest and elbow, according to a friend of the family. "She has had surgery at Medical Center Hospital, but Marián has completely lost her elbow."

Marián and her husband have a ten-month-old son, and she is expected to need several more surgeries.

"As humans, we don’t need to personally know someone to help out," said a friend of the family. "Today we are trying to help her and her family - tomorrow it could be us that needs the help."

As of Sunday evening, Marián was still in ICU. A friend of the family posted the following update on her condition Sunday,
