FREESTONE COUNTY — At approximately 12:49 pm, Freestone County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a report of the roadway on CR 111 being washed away and a possible vehicle in the creek and what appeared to be a bumper was at the water's surface.

Water Rescue teams from Teague and Wortham were dispatched to the scene.

Prior to the search and rescue, officials were notified there was a missing individual in the area and drove a black vehicle.

A search went on using two different water rescue boats at separate ends of the creek as they patrolled back and forth fighting the rushing water and attempting to find a vehicle in the depths of the water for approximately two hours.

As the water began to subside, a black Lexus bumper was pulled from the water.

As the water continued to subside, approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes into the search, on the east side of the creek, a search group located the missing person.

The missing person was found to be deceased at that time.

The vehicle has not yet been located, as search teams continue to wait for the water level to subside and the flow of water to become safer to continue to search and plan the extraction of the vehicle from the creek.

This area is not safe and parts of the roadway are still crumbling into the water.
