DALLAS, TX — The City of Dallas has declared Friday “George Floyd Remembrance Day.”
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, Dallas City Council, and U.S. Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson attended the ceremony Friday morning at City Hall Plaza.
At 8:46 a.m., an 8-minute, 46-second moment of silence was held to honor the life and memory of George Floyd.
“I wonder how long will we wait, to see this system of justice work? The time is now,” Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson said during the ceremony.
