CORSICANA, TX — Corsicana police said a post circulating on social media involving a person in a white van stalking children inside a store appears to be an "urban legend."
One of the posts going around included a photo of a white van driving through the parking lot of a local chain store.
Detectives from the Navarro County Sheriff's Office and the Corsicana Police Department immediately contacted the person who posted the photo and the owner of the van, and there is no indication of any crime or intent to commit crime.
The CPD Records Department performed a search of reported incidents at the listed store locations and could not locate any reports involving a white van and this type of activity.
A similar post, sometimes with slight variation but always involving a white van and the same chain store, has appeared on social media in multiple cities throughout the country.
