COPPERAS COVE, TX — UPDATE: As a result of the investigation, and with the support of District Attorney Dusty Boyd, arrest warrants were issued for Anthony Ramos charging him with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The investigation has determined the victim, Eric Rodgers, was shot during an argument with Anthony Ramos on North 7th Street.
Anthony Ramos, a 22-year-old Killeen resident, was arrested on June 16, 2020, at 5:05 p.m.
Detectives located Anthony Ramos in Killeen where he was arrested with the assistance of the Killeen Police Department and the US Marshalls.
On June 17, 2020, Ramos was arraigned by Justice of the Peace John Guinn and received a $150,000 surety bond for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and $100,000 surety bond for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On Monday, June 15, 2020, at 7:06 p.m., Copperas Cove Police responded to a shooting incident in the 400 block of North 7th Street.
Officers arrived on scene and determined the victim, Eric Wayne Rodgers, 35, suffered two gunshot wounds.
Rodgers was transported to Advent Hospital in Killeen by Copperas Cove EMS where he was pronounced deceased. A second victim, Darien Selby, 34, was also struck in the abdomen by a bullet that passed through the front of his residence. Selby was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple by Copperas Cove EMS where he was treated and released.
