DUVAL COUNTY, TX — Two people are dead after two helicopters collided Wednesday morning in Duval County, according to statements obtained by KRIS from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened around 9 a.m. while two helicopters were herding deer on a ranch near Hebbronville, Texas, said the FAA.
According to KRIS, the two helicopters were flying over Wagner Farm when they collided. One helicopter was able to make a safe landing, but the other helicopter crashed, killing two people.
Another person in serious condition was flown to Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, reported KRIS.
FAA Investigators are headed to the scene, and the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified.
The NTSB is investigating the Wednesday mid-air collision of two Robinson R22 Beta helicopters in Hebbronville, Texas.
