BRAZOS COUNTY, TX — A former Texas Department of Public Safety trooper is scheduled to be in court next Monday, after being indicted by a grand jury earlier this month.
Angela Fountain, 47, was arrested by the Texas Rangers following an investigation. Fountain is charged with tampering with government records.
According to court documents, Fountain is accused of knowingly making a false entry in a government record, which was discovered after she had requested family and medical leave last year.
Fountain was arrested on March 11. She bonded out of the Brazos County Jail the same day.
Fountain's next hearing is scheduled for April 8.
Fountain began her law enforcement career in 1996 in Houston. In 1999, she joined DPS as a trooper and served for more than 20 years. She retired in February 2019.
If convicted, Fountain could serve up to two years in jail.
