BRYAN, TX — West 17th Street in Bryan will be closed for five months starting Monday, February 3.

Starting Monday, the street will be closed until the end of July.

The closure is part of a capital improvement project to improve storm water drainage in the area.

"Citizens need a way in and out of the neighborhoods. Sometimes we can't ensure that for all streets, but we do target certain streets, and 17th is one of those. So yes, it's vital that the roads stay open during heavy rain events," said Sam Vernon, Bryan Assistant City Manager.

This project was one of the highest ranked projects in the City of Bryan's Stormwater Master Plan.
