Police: Man shot, killed while attempting to commit a robbery

BRYAN, TX — A man was shot and killed while attempting to commit a robbery, according to the Bryan Police Department.

On July 14th, 2020 at approximately 4:00 A.M., officers responded to the 500 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Street for reports of a shooting.

A person was approached by two males, one of which pointed a handgun at them. A confrontation ensued between the involved parties and gunfire was exchanged, according to police.

Responding officers located a person with an apparent gunshot wound a short distance away from the call location.

The victim was transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital where they were later pronounced deceased. He was later identified as 25-year-old Easley Jones from College Station.

Police say no other injuries have been reported.

The Bryan Police Department is still looking for other individuals involved in the robbery.
