COLLEGE STATION, TX — Babies in one NICU are getting a handmade present for Valentine’s Day this week.
Nurses at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in College Station are giving out Valentines Day-themed beanies to infants in the NICU.
The beanies were knitted by hand by several of the hospital's nursing staff.
Nurses say the beanies are a means of showing parents that the nurses provide love to each baby.
"So it bring a sense of normalcy you know when parents walk in and see their baby has a cute custom made hat just for their baby,” nurse Vanessa Snell said. “It makes them smile you know it’s a hard time for them so for us nurses to be able to bring a sense of comfort and a feeling of knowing that the nurses here love their babies and they're being well taken care of means a lot to us too."
