COLLEGE STATION, TX — The City of College Station is looking into improvements that can be made to Wellborn Road in the south end of town.

The $1.3 million study would include adding a grade crossing, overpass or underpass at the interchange of Wellborn and William D. Fitch Parkway.

"So a lot of our growth is happening south of town, and so Wellborn Road right now, it's six lanes up near 2818, and it reduces down to two lanes, so this would widen the road, provide more capacity so more cars could travel that north-south corridor," said Emily Fisher, Director of Capitol Projects.

The study also includes the widening of Wellborn Road from its intersection with Graham Road down to its intersection with Greens Prairie Road. The City says it wants to widen the road as College Station continues to grow southward.
