Bryan Police investigate fatal overnight drive-by shooting

BRYAN, TX — UPDATE:
Arrest warrants have been issued for suspects in this case.

DO NOT attempt to apprehend or detain these wanted persons.

Ayrian Brown is 5’10” tall, 250 lbs, and is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, pardon & parole warrant

Demetrius Thomas is 5’11” tall, 270 lbs, and is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, pardon & parole warrant

The Bryan Police Department is also looking for a person of interest in this case, who has active warrants for other offenses.

Deshawn Franklin is 5’08” tall, 185 lbs, black hair, brown eyes wanted for evading with a vehicle from Galveston, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon from Bryan PD.

On June 3rd, 2020, at approximately 11:30 pm, Bryan Police officers responded to reports of a drive-by shooting in the 1100 block of Clark Street.

Upon arrival, officers located Derrick O’Bryant Smith, a 32-year-old Bryan resident, who was incapacitated by what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Smith was transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Bryan Police Department believes the shooting was the result of a previous incident between the involved parties.

They do have suspect information at this time and the Bryan Police Department believes there is no threat to the public.
