BRYAN, TX — The city of Bryan announced that applications are open for two assistance programs aimed at helping small businesses and rental tenants in the local area affected by COVID-19 on Wednesday.

The Emergency Assistance Special Economic Development Grant offers up to $30,000 to small businesses headquartered in Bryan that were affected by COVID-19 related closures. Awarded grants may be used to pay debts, payroll, and other bills necessary to ensure the retention of jobs.

Tenant-based rental assistance provides grant funds to assist with rent, security deposits, and utilities. The grants are rewarded based on household need.

Funds for the program are provided through Bryan's HOME Investment Partnerships Program grant. The rental assistance grant will be available through Dec. 31, 2020.
