BRAZOS COUNTY, TX — Brazos County Health District's Dr. Sullivan is advising people to stay home this Mother's Day.

"This Mother’s Day, the Brazos County Health District encourages you to give your mom the best gift: Her health," Dr. Sullivan says in the video.

Brazos County Health District is encouraging people to stay home this Mother's Day to stop the spread of coronavirus, and to encourage your extended family to do so as well.

"Don’t invite company over, especially if you have anyone over 65 in your house. Call or video conference your mom, grandmother, and other loved ones instead of visiting," Dr. Sullivan said. "Make Mom breakfast in bed or order delivery to celebrate her big day."

The health district is also asking people to avoid eating out and going to other crowded places, but they say it is safe for you to send cards and gifts in the mail.

"Make sure your mom has the best Mother’s Day possible by stopping the spread of coronavirus," Dr. Sullivan said. "Together we can make a difference."
