26 cases of COVID-19 have been reported at Sanderson Farms in Bryan

More than two dozen positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported at Sanderson Farms in Bryan, according to the Brazos County Health District.

A spokeswoman for Brazos County Health confirmed 26 positive cases of COVID-19 at Sanderson Farms.

"The Brazos County Health District has been in communication with the facility, and from these conversations, they have notified us of the precautions they are taking," Sara Mendez said. "They are licensed by the US Department of Agriculture, which has been giving the facility education and guidance."

Dr. Sullivan will be talking about this more at their press conference scheduled for this afternoon at 4:30 pm.

Sanderson Farms are doing temperature checks to control COVID-19 in the facility, according to Dr. Sullivan.

Brazos County has a total of 333 cases as of May 18, with 147 recoveries and 18 deaths.
