TEMPLE, TX — The Centex Broncos, a youth football team in Temple, took time to pick up trash around New Hope Cemetery.
Around 70 kids signed up for the cleanup event.
The coaching staff saw the importance of serving and giving back to the community. It's a lesson they hope their players learn.
"It's just a way to mentor the kids to show them that we could be much more than football. You know, just showing them that giving back to the community can help them in so many ways. It is part of what we teach them in dedication, and having the ability to do something other than just focus on football," said Tray Taplin, head coach of the Centex Broncos.
The team plans to find more ways to give back to their community.
