TEMPLE, TX — (UPDATE: September 20, 2019, 5:04 p.m.) TPD says the distressed man has been located by the McLennan County Sheriff's Office.

The Temple Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a distressed man in a military uniform.

TPD and other local agencies believe this man's safety is at risk due to them possessing a handgun.

The person is described as a white man, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a military uniform. He was last seen driving in a black Ford Ranger with California license plates.

According to TPD, around 2 p.m., officers received a call concerning a man showing signs of mental distress near the Morgan's Point area.

TPD is asking the public to not approach the man and to call law enforcement with any informtaion. TPD says the case is active, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
