Temple police investigate after vehicle was struck by rock on I-35

TEMPLE, TX — Temple police are investigating after a driver was struck by a rock on I-35 on Monday.

According to police, an officer was dispatched to meet with the driver who said her vehicle was struck by a rock while traveling southbound on I-35 near Loop 363.

The officer did observe damage to the passenger side of the vehicle's windshield.

Police said no rock was located at the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Nearly two months ago, a woman was killed due to a rock being thrown off an I-35 overpass on March 10.

Police said the rock broke the windshield of the moving car and hit 33-year-old Keila Flores.

Flores died from her injuries.

Another rock was thrown from a Temple overpass on March 12 . Police believe it was thrown off of Nugent Avenue near exit 302.

The rock did hit a moving vehicle, but there were no injuries. The rock hit the sunroof of a Volkswagon GTI.
