Police: Woman had unnecessary surgery performed on her 9-month-old arrested

TEMPLE, TX — (UPDATE: July 25, 2019 6:16 p.m.) Temple PD says Danica Alexandria Harrison was arrested Thursday evening by the College Station Police Department.

The Temple Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a woman they say had unnecessary surgery performed on her 9-month-old daughter.

According to Temple PD, on March 12, 2018, officers were called to Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center after medical staff observed concerning behavior from the mother of a patient.

Temple PD says an investigation revealed that the mother, Danica Alexandria Harrison of Bryan/College Station, manipulated medical staff into performing unnecessary surgery and procedures on her 9-month-old daughter.

Temple PD says on Tuesday, July 23, a felony warrant was issued for the arrest of Harrison on charges of Injury to a Child - Intentional Bodily Injury.
