GoFundMe set up for family of 54-year-old man who was killed in hit-and-run

TEMPLE, TX — Temple police are investigating a hit and run accident that left a man dead Monday night.

According to police, at approximately 9:21 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person who had been struck by a vehicle.

Officers arrived to find 54-year-old Mario Arriaga laying in the roadway. Officers said the man had been struck by an unknown vehicle in the 1500 block of Scott Blvd.

The vehicle was no longer on the scene and officers were not able to gather any information on the driver.

The victim later died from his injuries at Baylor Scott and White. An autopsy has been ordered.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with the arrangements.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
