KILLEEN, TX — Killeen ISD is making parents aware of an incident that happened on Thursday.
The district said a kindergarten student brought a toy weapon from home and showed it to others on the bus. It was reported to a teacher, and school administration is following the student code of conduct to determine the appropriate disciplinary consequences.
There was never a threat to students or the campus.
They said they would like to commend the student for reporting the toy to the teacher.
"We would like to commend the student for reporting the toy to the teacher and we encourage all students to say something if they see something," the district said.
